Undergraduate Student Training in AcademicResearch ( U*STAR).

This renewable grant has been awarded to NorthernArizonaUniversity by theNational Institutes of General Medical sciences, and National Institutes of Health. The MARCU*STAR Program at Northern Arizona University is funded by the National Institutes ofHealth (NIH) with the goal of increasing the number of well-trained students from underrepresented groups who enter research careers in biomedical research. To meet the goal of diversity in the biomedical research workforce, the MARC Program is open to qualified undergraduate honors students majoring in the sciences with an expressed interest in a career in science and intentions to pursue graduate education leading to a Ph.D.  or  M.D./Ph.D. The MARC Program is intended for minority undergraduate students who have distinguished themselves academically and in their ability to conduct original research.
