The Arizona Technology Access Program
A Statewide, Phoenix-Based Program of Northern Arizona University’s Institute for Human Development

The Arizona Technology Access Program (AzTAP) was created in 1994 and operates under the mandate of the Assistive Technology Act of 1998 as amended (P.L. 108-364). AzTAP is funded by the US Department of Education, Rehabilitation Services Administration, Grant Award # H 224A060003.

Our mission is to promote awareness of, access to and acquisition of assistive technology for persons with disabilities.

As required by the Assistive Technology Act, our services encompass seven key activities including, but not limited to

  1. Equipment Demonstrations
  2. Short-term Equipment Loans
  3. Equipment Reutilization
  4. Alternative Financing
  5. Public Awareness
  6. Training and Technical Assistance including transition services
  7. Interagency Coordination/Collaboration.
