Private Support for Assistive Technology through the Arizona Easter Seal Society, Inc.
The Arizona Easter Seal Society is a private, non-profit organization that provides support for people with disabilities through a variety of services and programs. For example, school districts may request assistive technology devices on loan for their students to “try out” for up to four weeks at a time from the Arizona Technology Loan Closet (ATLC) which is housed at Easter Seals
Eligibility
Physically or developmentally disabled individuals of all ages may receive services from the Easter Seal Society. Individuals may refer themselves, be referred by a physician, or family member. Fees for services are on a sliding scale and based on financial need. School districts may request AT devices on loan for specific students by using a standard application form.
Coverage
The Easter Seal Society provides a number of services including:
- Loaned orthopedic and assistive technology equipment (statewide)
- Training and assessment in the use of assistive technology devices
- Health education
- Disability awareness training for schools and employers (statewide)
- Recreation activities for physically disabled children
- Early intervention programs designed for children up to age three who manifest
- Developmental delays and/or physical disabilities
- Support groups
