Timothy Beatley is an internationally recognized expert in the creation of more livable cities. His research into European and American experience highlights creative strategies by which cities and towns can fundamentally reduce their ecological footprints, while at the same time becoming more livable and equitable places. David Stuart, Chaco Civilization: Its Implications for Modern-day America

David Stuart is Professor of Anthropology at the University of New Mexico and author of Anasazi America: 17 Centuries on the Road from Center Place. He argues that the failure of Chaco civilization was a failure to adapt to the consequences of rapid growth. Stuart sees the contrasting fates of the Anasazi and their Pueblo descendants as a parable for modern societies.
