Assessment in Action

Mark James, Assistant Professor of Physics and Astronomy, Paula Garcia, former Coordinator for Assessment, Pedagogy, and Practice in the e-Learning Center, and Federica Barbieri, former e-Learning Center Summer Research Assistant, had a paper accepted to the Association of American Colleges and University's conference on General Education and Assessment: Engaging Critical Questions, Fostering Critical Learning.

Their paper, "Effective Uses of Peer Instruction and Classroom Response System to Increase Student Interaction," focuses on the types of instructional techniques that best take advantage of electronic response system (i.e., "clickers") technology in teaching large-lecture science courses.

The conference took place in Miami, Florida on March 1-3, 2007.
