Course Content
If you have an empty shell, you can create a main content page:
- In your course, select the plus sign in the course menu.
- Select the Content Area option (make sure it is available to students).
- Name it appropriately (Home Page, Course Content, etc.)
You now have a main folder area to where you can upload files.
Home Page
If you have used a “Home Page” in your previous courses, and you want to re-create the same page in your new empty course shell, you can do the following steps:
- In your course, select the plus sign in the course menu.
- Select the Module Page option (make sure it is available to students).
- Name it appropriately (Home Page, Course Dashboard, etc.).
- Now open the module page and select the Add Course Module button.
- Add the modules that you think will help your students by selecting the Add button for each module. Select the OK button when done.
- You can then move and arrange the various modules. The original default template included the following:
- Top Left: My Announcements
- Left: What's New
- Left: Needs Attention
- Top Right: My Calendar
- Right: My Tasks
Once this is created, you can set it to be the course entry point by clicking on Customization > Teaching Style > and then selecting the page in the Entry Point drop-down menu.
