How is a web class different from an in-person class?

Generally, you will receive the same course credit for an online class as you would in an in-person class (some courses that require labs are exceptions). Many online students feel that they spend more time interacting with their fellow students and the instructor than in a traditional in-person class.

Unlike a correspondence class where students complete assignments on their own, many online classes at NAU require students to actively participate and become an integral part of the electronic learning community. Web classes are no easier than traditional classes but they may be more convenient. However, you will need self-discipline because online classes are more self-paced than traditional classes. If you tend to procrastinate and leave assignments to the last minute, then you may find that web classes are more challenging than in-person classes.
