Which workshops pay a stipend?

3.1.2011 Training Stipends are back!

Anyone designated as Instructor in the NAU Schedule of Classes is eligible for a stipend upon completion of a series of Bb Learn workshops. Classified staff and service professionals will need to complete an ROA for the workshop time unless they do the workshop activities outside their regular work hours (which is possible for online self-paced workshops).

You must complete any FOUR of the following workshops to receive the $200 stipend:

  • Bb Learn - Introduction to Bb Learn (0.25 credits)
  • Bb Learn - Organizing Content (0.25 credits)
  • Bb Learn - Communicating with Students (0.25 credits)
  • Bb Learn - Grading Student Work (0.25 credits)
  • Bb Learn - Developing Learning Activities (0.25 credits)

Payment is triggered when you are marked as "attended/completed" for your fourth Bb Learn workshop, giving you the full credit for the stipend. To see a list of workshops that you have completed, visit the "My Profile" page in the Training section of our website. You may need to log in to see this page.

You can complete the workshops synchronously (in-person or via Elluminate) or asynchronously (via Bb Learn) using our self-paced tutorials as a guide. In the case of the self-paced approach, we will give you a "sandbox" course in which to build out content as described in our tutorials. We will look at your course when you tell us you're done, verify that you've completed the work, and credit you for completion of the course.

Stipends are processed by ELC upon completion of the fourth workshop.

Payment: Once we have processed the stipend, the paperwork goes to the attendee's department for a signature. It then returns to us for a signature and is sent to payroll. This may take several pay periods and, because of deductions, the amount you see in your paycheck may be less than the full stipend amount. Once sent to payroll, we can no longer track the progress of your payment. Typically it will take about six weeks after the last workshop is recorded as completed before you will receive your stipend.
