Why is my scroll bar missing in the full grade center?


This is a computer settings issue. University of Oregon's excellent step-by-step guide will help you adjust your computer settings and provides screenshots of the process. Once the settings are adjusted, your scrollbar will appear in the grade center for whichever browser you are using. 

Windows 7

  1. Go to Control Panel
  2. Select Appearance and Personalization
  3. In top right-hand search box, type “windows color”
  4. It will bring up Personalization and a list.  Select “Change window colors and metrics”.
  5. Click on the Item Dropdown (default says Desktop) and select “Scrollbar” and change to 19.

Windows XP

  1. Go to the Control Panel.
  2. Click on Display Properties.
  3. Click on the Appearance tab.
  4. Select the Advanced button.
  5. Select the Scroll Bar from the item drop down list.
  6. Change the setting to 19.
  7. Submit.

Windows Vista

  1. Go to the Control Panel.
  2. Click on Personalization.
  3. Select the Window Color and Appearance option.
  4. Click on the Advanced button.
  5. Select the Scroll Bar from the item drop down list.
  6. Change the setting to 19.
  7. Submit.

Mac OS X - Apple

1. Launch System Preferences, either from the Dock or from the Apple menu.
2. Once the System Preferences window opens, select the General preference pane.
3. The middle section of the General preference pane controls when scroll bars appear and a few additional scroll bar options.
4. To return the scroll bars to their pre-Lion functionality, select "Always" from the Show Scroll Bars options.
