CPS Device Manager
The receiver is the part of the CPS software most likely to cause issues. In previous versions, there was a Detect Receiver option in the Delivery Options/Receiver tab, but this function now resides in a separate program called the Device Manager, part of
eInstruction Tools, which you will find in the Windows system tray at the lower right of your screen. You can also get to the Device Manager from the Receiver tab of the Delivery Options screen by clicking the Open Device Manager button.

Click on the
eInstruction Tools icon and a popup menu will appear.

Select eInstruction Device Manager...

You will see one or more receivers. From the Options menu, select and Remove any receivers that have a red X next to them.

Just to be safe, you could also remove them all and then select Discover Devices...a blue wheel should spin for a few seconds...

When there is only one receiver with a green check, you're ready to start CPS. Be sure to use this menu to Remove the receiver before pulling it out of the USB port.
Troubleshooting:
- If the
eInstruction Tools icon is not visible, try restarting the machine or reinstalling the CPS software. - If the Device Manager is not responsive (doesn't detect a receiver), click on the
eInstruction Tools icon and Restart it from the popup menu...the icon will disappear briefly and then should reappear. If that doesn't work, usually a restart of the machine will cause the eInstruction Tools icon to reappear.
