	Program News NCATE/ISTE Accreditation - The College of Education has embarked in obtaining accreditation through NCATE. As part of the accreditation process, the Educational Technology Program will seek two levels of accreditation: Technology Facilitation (entry level, obtained through the Certificate in Ed Tech) and Technology Leadership (advanced level, obtained through the Master's in Ed Tech). Upon being accredited, students graduating with the Certificate in Educational Technology will be nationally recognized as being at the Technology Facilitation level, while students graduating with the Master's of Education in Educational Technology will be nationally recognized as being at the Technology Leadership level. Textbooks and TaskStream Enrollment Codes Please visit the Courses link on the left to obtain the names of the required textbooks and the codes necessary to enroll your TS account into each of the ETC courses you are taking.

NAU's College of Education offers Master's and Certificate programs in Educational Technology, which are delivered completely online. The advantage of an online degree is that it gives educational professionals, as well as other interested applicants, the opportunity to complete a graduate degree or certificate with freedom from the constraints of time and place. We are proud to have students from different states in the U.S. as well as from other countries, such as Japan, China, Saudi Arabia, etc.

As an educator, you must be prepared to meet the needs of students in a technologically advancing world. Our educational technology program is designed to help you explore and understand the use and integration of technology in instructional learning settings, being these in-person or online learning environments.

Our academic plans are based on the standards set forth by the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) for both students and teachers.

According to NCATE/ISTE: "Building on the NETS for Students, the ISTE NETS for Teachers (NETS•T), which focus on preservice teacher education, define the fundamental concepts, knowledge, skills, and attitudes for applying technology in educational settings. All candidates seeking certification or endorsements in teacher preparation should meet these educational technology standards." (ISTE Recommended Foundations in Technology for All Teachers).

Over the last several years, study after study has identified good pre-service and in-service training in technology as the most pressing public school need related to educational technology. Are you up for the challenge? Why not start your application today?

Prerequisite Knowledge

Starting in the fall 2008 semester, all prospective students applying to either or both the certificate and the master's program will need to demonstrate their proficiency in the NETS-T (NETS for Teachers). Students will be given several options, which are now being worked out. Some of them may be:

• Take an online test to demonstrate proficiency in the NETS for Teachers
• If you fail the test, go over tutorials on your own and retake the test. We do not know yet how many times you can retake the test.
• Take a course to bring you up to par with the NETS for Teachers but which does not count towards your program of studies
