Educational Technology Program: Application

Admission Requirements:

Because students come to graduate programs with different academic and professional experiences, and graduate course work presupposes a degree of success with the university-level content, five different avenues for admission are available to prospective students.

For the M.Ed. in Educational Technology degree, it is recommended, but not required, that you have a basic teacher’s certificate.

Further requirements include:

  1. Admission will be granted if the student has an undergraduate, graduating grade point average of 3.0 or higher. If graduate work has been taken, it must average 3.0 or higher.
    OR
  2. Admission will be granted if the student has an undergraduate, graduating grade point average of 3.0 or higher in the last 60 semester hours of the bachelor's degree. If graduate work has been taken, it must average 3.0 or higher.
    OR
  3. Admission will be granted if the student scores at or above the 25th percentile on the subject test in education portion of the Graduate Record Examination. If graduate work has been taken, it must average 3.0 or higher.
    OR
  4. Admission will be granted if the student scores at or above the 25th percentile on the general verbal and quantitative portions of the GRE (or makes comparable scores on the Miller Analogies Test). If graduate work has been taken, it must average 3.0 or higher.
    OR
  5. Admission will be granted upon completion of 9 approved hours from NAU with a 3.3 or higher grade point average. (Please contact Educational Specialties Office at COE when you have completed required 9 hours of coursework at 928/ 523-5342 or send a letter requesting change from provisional to regular status).
