Application: Petition to Transfer Credit

1. You may download a copy of the Petition to Transfer Credit form from the Graduate College web site.

2. Transfer of credits is NOT an automatic process. Requests are reviewed carefully by the program coordinator, the department chair, and the Graduate College.

3. For a graduate program of 36 credit hours (such as the MEd in Ed Tech), you may transfer a maximum of 9 hours from previous graduate level coursework taken in the last 6 years and they must be reviewed and approved by the people listed above. For a graduate program of 15 credit hours (such as the Certificate in Ed Tech), you may petition to transfer only 3 credit hours. Same rules apply.

4. Transfers of credit may be used as substitutes for the core courses in this program (Ed Psych, Research, Curriculum, Foundations) if they were taken as part of a completed masters degree AND are approved by the specific department. Please supply a course syllabus and transcripts where it shows the course along with your petition.

5. Nine hours of NAU core courses from a completed masters degree may be used without time limit, but only 9 hours.

To read the complete policy on transfer of credits, visit the Academic Catalog.
