ETC 599: Educational Uses of Handhelds

This course will provide you with the an in-depth study of the uses of handheld tools in education. Theory and current research of these new technologies will be explored. An overview to the basic operating systems, both the Palm OS and the Pocket PC and their applications will be provided. A handheld is required for the course. The main focus will remain on the practical uses in the classroom setting. There is a Field component as part of the course.

Texts:
We want to keep the cost of text down because we realize that some of you had to buy a handheld just of this course. Therefore, there is only one text required for the course. If you are using a Palm OS handheld we highly recommend the ISTE book that is geared toward a Palm.
