Welcome to Undergraduate Mentoring in Environmental Biology (UMEB)!

I am actually afraid of heights. But with little encouragement and guidance, we all can achieve new heights. My name is Victoria Henderson.  I am a senior attempting a degree in Biology.

My mentor is Dr. Catherine Propper and the focus of the study will be EDC's.

What is in our water here in Flagstaff?  A whole lot of hydrogen and oxygen but also other substances that will be studied.  It is known that there are EDC's in water but will the concentration have an effect on the ecosystem and on human health?  We all love the fact that reclaimed water is being used to water the unnecessary golf courses in Flagstaff, but do we know (and care) about the impact this will have?  YES!

I will expand later on the specific study that I will be working on. But for now let's have a little fun, and see what I enjoy doing in and around Flagstaff.

Here I am on top of Humphrey's Peak. Another 'high-point' in my life. Here I am again. This time kayaking at Lake Powell. Even when I am doing my field work, I always take time to stop and be bewildered by the simple things of nature.
