At left, a teenage Tibetan stays to take care of his family’s home while the rest are away selling sweaters. The family is extremely fortunate to have a sheet metal roof.
At right, Lama Tashi, one of the primary monks at the monastery, prepares for a
ceremonial farewell event. Behind him is a costume of a snow lion, a creature which
adorns the Tibetan flag.
