Overview of the Institute

The Martin-Springer Institute was established by Ralph and Doris Martin at
Northern Arizona University in 2000. The mission of the Institute is to
apply the lessons of the Holocaust to promote moral courage, altruism,
and tolerance. Ralph and Doris Martin hope that, through education,
this Institute will help to reduce intolerance and hatred in order to
prevent future outbreaks of these kinds of crimes.

We achieve our mission by:

Providing opportunities for educators and the public to learn about the lessons of the Holocaust
Developing curricula for teaching the lessons of the Holocaust, moral courage,
altruism, and tolerance

Bearing witness to the tragedy of the Holocaust
Developing and maintaining a resource center that provides teachers and
researchers with materials related to the study and teaching of the Holocaust,
moral courage, altruism and tolerance.

Please become part of the ripple effect. Educate yourself and get involved in
fostering hope, moral courage, tolerance, and altruism.
