Vol. 6 No. 10 | October 13, 2009
John Schroeder and his family joked throughout Family Weekend that they never win anything: “Ah well, this donation is for a great cause.” It is a great cause indeed. As a community we have raised more than $35,000 in direct support of student scholarships throughout Orientation, Welcome Week, and Family Weekend! Little did the Schroeder’s know that upon their return home to Tempe on Sunday of Family Weekend that they would receive the call—delivered by the entire Family Weekend Brunch ballroom crowd—congratulating them on winning one semester’s free tuition for their daughter Lexie Schroeder!
Lexie is an accomplished athlete who plays on the NAU Volleyball team. Look for her on the court in jersey number 1. She joins us from Corona del Sol High School in Tempe where she earned varsity letters and was named the team’s most valuable player. Her parents John and Paula, attend every home volleyball game and are very proud of her. True Blue NAU runs in her family as her cousin Nick Walton currently attends NAU and her cousin Lisa Mason recently graduated.
Congratulations to Lexie and her family and thank you to all for supporting student scholarships!
