Vol. 9 No. 2 | September 4, 2012
It's crazy, but Family Weekend is just around the corner! This weekend is set aside for you to connect with the university and your student for a few days in September (28-30, specifically).
Join us Friday, September 28 for a reception at 5:30 PM. Saturday is the annual Undergraduate Showcase and Academic Receptions beginning at 10:30 AM. The football game (NAU vs Portland State) is followed by the ever-popular Casino Night and dinner. On Sunday we hold our traditional brunch for families before they head home. We hope you will join us!
Tickets for these events are conveniently packaged or can be purchased separately from the Central Ticket Office online.
Spaces at Casino Night are filling up quickly, so please order now to reserve your spot.
Visit the website for a complete list of activities.
New Bike Enclosures Available To Students
Newly-installed bike enclosures are now available to students! Located in each parking garage (Knoles, San Francisco, and Mountain View), these enclosures provide bike racks and small personal lockers for bike gear or related items. These enclosures are much more secure and provide complete protection from the elements (especially snow and snow plows!).
A space in an enclosure may be rented for $15 for one semester or $40 for the year.
Bicycles can be registered (a free service) at the time of rental.
Time Management Resources
Keeping track of a daily or weekly schedule is a challenge for many students in the university setting. Regular class schedules can be complicated with mandatory lab time or field work that must be inserted into the day. Many students work part time jobs and even give volunteer service in the community. Without a good system, it can be easy for time to get away.
The Student Learning Center has many academic success workshops and productivity resources, including time management tools for students. Students can also print a weekly class schedule through LOUIE.

Inclusion and Multicultural Services
Inclusion and Multicultural Services (IMS) is here to serve all students, acting as a centrally-located gathering spot that provides culturally-relevant services and support to historically underrepresented students.
We offer advising, counseling, and computer use for all students as well as diversity resources for all university members.
One signature event held each year is One Community, Many Voices. This year it will be held on Thursday, September 6 in the du Bois Ballroom, beginning at 6 PM.
