Parking and Shuttles
During your visit, the best way to get around is the campus shuttle system. We have increased the number of buses on site during the weekend so you'll be sure to find a ride. All shuttles and buses running through campus are free--just hop aboard!
Parking will be free for parents during the weekend at the following lots: P62 on south campus, P13 behind Cline Library, and the new parking garage on San Francisco Street. We encourage you to park at any of these lots for the duration of your stay and use the shuttles instead of driving to minimize traffic congestion and allow the shuttles to move swiftly on the route. (Download the Family Weekend map of events.)
Football Game and BBQ
This year the Family Weekend football game kickoff will be at 2 PM and aired LIVE on Fox Sports Arizona PLUS.
Also new is the Lumberjack FanFest, which offers fun for the whole family including games, giveaways, face painting, and photo opportunities with Louie the Lumberjack. FanFest will host a beer garden featuring New Belgium Brewing Company, a Philly cheesesteak tent sponsored by NAU Dining and Sodexo, and music courtesy of Rewind 104.1.
FanFest is free and open until 4 PM in parking lot 64 south of the Skydome.
5k Partner Run

Fueling for Academic Success
by Alicia Loewenthal, Graduate Assistant, Health Promotions
Staying well-fueled can help your student succeed with aspects of campus life ranging from stress management to studying efficiently, and even having energy for an active social life. Developing the habit of eating a healthy daily breakfast is an excellent start. Many students would rather sleep an extra half hour than make time to get breakfast before morning class. If that's the case for your student, you can help by stocking healthy choices in their room as one solution. While a quick stop for a sweetened beverage and pastry may seem tempting, it increases the likelihood of a mid-morning crash as well as an increased appetite for sweets later in the day.
Foods like high-fiber cereal, yogurt, and fruits can supply fast morning fuel THAT LASTS. To keep breakfast interesting, students can also try something different by ordering a smoothie made with berries (even mango, carrots, or spinach) at Essential Blends in the Health and Learning Center on campus.
Small daily changes can make a big difference over time. Encourage your student to make choices that will enable them to fuel their bodies and their brains at the start of each day!
