Introducing the new Parent and Family Services Coordinator

I'd like to introduce myself as the new Parent and Family Services Coordinator. I've been working with parents and families in a variety of capacities for more than 20 years and am thrilled to begin my position working with you. My son is also a new college student so I am sharing in this exciting adventure with you!

You will find Parent and Family Services in the Office of Student Life on the first floor of the University Union, building #30, room 105. Stop by the office if you're on campus; I'd love to say hello.

We have a number of programs and people in place to support your student during their time at the university. We rely on you--parent and family members--to serve as our partners in educating your student. I am here to answer your questions or connect you with someone who can. Please contact me if I can be of service to you, your student, or your family.

Go Jacks!

Welcome to the Backpack

Welcome Lumberjack parents and families to the Backpack newsletter. For some of you this is old hat and you've come to expect and rely on the information provided in our weekly newsletter. For others, having a student at the university is just the beginning of a new and exciting journey. The Backpack is here to serve you!

You will find the Backpack in your e-mail inbox every Tuesday throughout the school year. It provides information about exciting opportunities for you and your student, featured events on campus and in Flagstaff, and information about normal challenges and transitions your student may face as a college student. Every week we will also include a list of important dates and deadlines for your reference. We hope you find the Backpack helpful and informative.

If there are additional topics or questions you'd like us to address please contact me through Facebook, e-mail or just call Shannon Clark at 928-523-4630.
