Canon alla Duodecima in Contrapunto alla Quinta The "Canon at the Twelfth with Counterpoint at the Fifth" comes after the double/triple fugues and before the mirror fugues. Its subject is barely recognizable as a derivation of the Art of Fugue theme, and represents the cycle's most elaborate transformation.
