Greg Larkin received a PhD in English from BYU in 1975 and an MA from the University of Wisconsin in 1972. Since 1975, Dr. Larkin has taught writing at several universities. He has taught at NAU since 1981. During these years, Dr. Larkin has published three textbooks and dozens of scholarly articles on the subject of teaching writing. He has also made many conference presentations nationally and internationally. Throughout his career, Dr. Larkin has been in constant demand as a writing trainer in many corporations and government agencies, including all branches of the military, NASA, USGS, US Forest Service, Chevron Oil, Shell Oil, Allied Signal, United Technologies, GTE, IBM, and many others. Dr. Larkin currently directs NAU's Professional Writing Program, which includes both a Master's degree and a Professional Certificate. Many of the classes in these programs, both online and face-to-face, were developed by Dr. Larkin. His most recent online program is a set of concrete, practical, and down-to-earth resources to help writing teachers improve their students' writing.
