If you discover what you think is a Bb Learn bug, please tell the e-Learning Center the following information.
- The Bb Learn course number and section of the course in which the problem occurred.
This information appears in the My Courses box after you log into Bb Learn. Example: PSY-101 - (1064-1679) Introduction to Psychology.
- Operating system and version
Example: Windows XP, Service Pack 2; Macintosh OS X, 10.4.6
- Browser type and version
Example: Firefox 1.07; Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0, Service Pack 2; Safari 2.03
- Date and approximate time when the problem occurred
Example: Thursday, April 13, around 11 a.m.
- What you were trying to do, including the exact steps you took
Example: "I was trying update assignment 2 and I clicked on the Edit link."
- What symptom(s) you saw
Example: tell us the exact text of any error messages that are displayed, or tell us the result that you did or did not get; simply saying "it didn't work" doesn't give us enough information to troubleshoot the problem.
- Whether or not the problem occurs in multiple situations
Example: if you have a problem with an assignment, does it occur for only that assignment or for all of them in your course? If the problem relates to students, does it affect all students or only some? If you have multiple course shells in Bb Learn, does the problem occur in all of your courses or only some?)
Screen captures (pictures of your computer screen, also known as screenshots) can also be very helpful in diagnosing problems, and they are a good way to show us any error messages that might appear.
