What can I expect to accomplish as the presenter during a class' First Collaborate meeting?
For the FIRST Collaborate meeting during any semester, expect that a minimum of 30 minutes are dedicated to waiting for and helping participants join the meeting. Smaller classes, more technically-oriented classes, or cohorts of students who have used the tool before can be exceptions to this generalization.
Mostly however, instructors have scheduled a separate "playground meeting" as the first meeting. In this meeting, they set up the audio, draw on the Whiteboard, chat, and any other activities that the instructor may want students to participate in during the course. Other instructors have dedicated a half hour of the first meeting to "play" activities.
