The Liberal Studies Committee was formed at the recommendation of the Liberal Studies Task Force and the University Curriculum Committee in August 1998. Faculty appointed to this council were chosen because of their dedication to undergraduate education, liberal studies, and the university mission. The Liberal Studies Committee aids in making policy decisions regarding the new liberal studies program - Preparing Students of the 21st Century - and evaluates and approves courses to be included in the curriculum.
