Liberal Studies Distribution Course Guidelines & Submission Forms
All distribution courses that count for liberal studies credit must meet the guidelines that have been approved as part of the liberal studies plan. Courses at the 100-300 levels will be considered. Courses should follow the liberal studies syllabus template and address the skills and blocks within the liberal studies program. Junior Level Writing Requirement Guidelines & Submission Forms
These are guidelines from the Liberal Studies Committee for faculty and departments wishing to submit courses that will meet the Junior Level Writing Requirement. Submitted syllabi should articulate how these guidelines will be met. The forms that should accompany submissions are also on this page.
If the course is meant to also count as a liberal studies distribution course, the guidelines for distribution courses must also be followed (see above).
Senior Capstone Guidelines & Submission Forms
These are the guidelines from the Liberal Studies Committee for faculty and programs wishing to propose courses that will meet the senior capstone requirement. The Liberal Studies Committee has developed these guidelines to ensure that the senior capstone experience will demonstrate continuity with the beginning of a student's liberal studies career. The emphasis will be on the essential skills the student has developed during their NAU career rather than on any of the three themes of the liberal studies program.
