1. A phosphate from an ATP
is added to glucose to form glucose 6-phosphate.
2. The glucose 6-phosphate
is rearranged and a second phosphate provided by a second ATP is added
to form fructose 1,6-diphosphate.
3. The 6-carbon fructose
1,6-diphosphate is split into two 3-carbon phosphoglyceraldehydes. Go
