1. Pick a predator. Possible places to look are the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County page on cats, the Yukon's Department of Renewable Resources, the University of Michigan's The Animal Diversity Web, or others you may locate on your own. List the predator in the assignment database. Make sure your predator is not already listed in the assignment database.

2. What are the common and scientific names of the predator you picked? What is its habitat? What source(s) of information did you use?

3. What organisms does the predator prey on? Does this predator switch prey species? Explain.

4. What kind of functional response would you expect this predator to have with one of its prey species? Explain.

5. What kind of numerical response would you expect this predator to have with the same prey species? Explain.

6. What conditions would be necessary for this predator to control its prey? Are these conditions met, i.e., does the predator control its prey? Explain. What source(s) of information did you use?
