8. Interdisciplinary Sharing of Research Process and Outcomes.

Following our legacy of interdisciplinary relationships with other NAU REU programs, we continue to maintain a close and collegial relationship with the mentors for these programs. We anticipate continuing this interdisciplinary sharing of the processes and outcomes of our mutual programs through (a) the initial student/mentor picnic, (b) TTH afternoon faculty lectures, (c) professional development presentations, (d) social, cultural, educational, and physical outings, and (e) the final REU conference. We feel that such a sharing of our unique research programs will give our students a broad flavor of research activities across disciplines, as well as the important message that scientists have a common goal, regardless of their disciplines, that being the pursuit of truth and knowledge through application of the scientific method.
