This article profiles the work of twoexperienced bilingual educators advocating in and for bilingual programs toillustrate the kinds of advocacy work that bilingual educators withadvocacy-oriented visions of bilingual education engage in, the paths thattheir advocacy work take over time, and the factors that influence theiradvocacy efforts. Their stories offer insights for bilingual teachers who areseeking ways to effectively advocate for emergent bilingual learners and forteacher educators preparing bilingual teachers.
