In my continuing formation as a biologist, I have developed a great interest in ecosystem ecology and the study of plant adaptations to the environment (using ecological, physiological and biochemical tools). My early research focused on bryophytes, more specifically high mountain ecosystem mosses and their responses to water and low temperature stress. After obtaining my BS in Biology, I continued to conduct research in the areas of ecophysiology and was introduced to ecosystem ecology research (concepts, sample techniques and data analysis), more specifically evaluating climatic impacts on net primary productivity in a tropical rainforest and global warming implications in northern ecosystems.
