To complete this assignment successfully, you should:
  1. Study the assignment carefully
  2. Enter your response(s) in the space(s) provided
  3. Fill in your Name and Email address
  4. Send the Assignment

DUE: 29-Jan-1999 Assignments sent after the due date will receive a grade of zero.

1. Find plants of two of the photosynthetic adaptations (C3, C4, CAM) growing naturally in the same environment in your state, e.g., Arizona or Washington. Post the state and the names of these species to the class newsgroup. Look at a "cleaner" version of the list, with a slight delay in posting. Put your information in the subject window. Reply to Group. Do not duplicate species in the same state.

2. What is the environment in which these two species are found? What source(s) did you use for reference?

3. For the first species, how does its photosynthetic pathway adapt it to its environment? What source(s) did you use for reference?

4. For the second species, how does its photosynthetic pathway adapt it to its environment? What source(s) did you use for reference?

5. What suggestion (hypothesis) can you offer to explain why two different photosynthetic adaptations can be found in the same environment? What source(s) did you use for reference?
