Iraq casaulty of war:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casualties_of_the_conflict_in_Iraq_since_2003 In Iraq from March 2003 through July 24, 2008, the number of US troops killed in the Iraq conflict was 4,123 and another 314 from other Coalition armies. The World Health Organization estimated 151,000 Iraqis died in violence by June 2006, over two years ago.

In Afghanistan there have been 925 coalition deaths -- 570 US troops and 355 from other countries - from October 7, 2001 through August 19, 2008. At least 2,330 U.S. personnel have been wounded in action, according to the Pentagon. It's not clear how many 1,000s of civilian deaths have occurred in Afghanistan.

The percentage of households which experience hunger in the United States is estimated by the government at 4%. The number of people without health insurance continues to grow, reaching 47 million, new Census Bureau statistics show (Aug 29, 2007).
