Fieldwork courses:
Fieldwork for students enrolled in graduate programs are as follows: Educational Psychology (EPS 608 or 694/796*), Public Health/Health Promotion (HP 608), Nursing (NUR 608 or 663/665**) or Psychology (PSY 608), Anthropology (ANT 607-609), Criminal Justice (CJ 608), Sociology/Social Work (SOC 696). *Students in EPS practitioner programs (Student Affairs, School and Community Counseling; Doc. Program in Counseling Psychology) who decide to pursue this certificate may substitute EPS 694/796 for this experience. The experience however would need to meet the guidelines specified in this certificate in the area of Substance Abuse Education. **Students enrolled in the Nurse Practitioner Program who decide to pursue this certificate may substitute NUR 663/665 for this experience. The number of hours for this practicum would be negotiated with the Department of Nursing and the Graduate Certificate Committee. Certificate students who are not currently enrolled in a specific graduate program can sign up for either HP 608 or PSY 608 for their fieldwork experience. All fieldwork proposals would need to be approved by the Substance Abuse Certificate Program Committee.
Note: All fieldwork placements would require the approval of the home department as well as the Certificate Curriculum Committee before a student would be given permission to enroll and have the course count toward the certificate.
