Overview of Degree Programs
NAU has been offering on-campus degree programs in Health Sciences related areas for over 50 years. With initial funding for the development of this DL program from the US Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration, the HS department began offering the DL degree in HS in Fall 2000 with its first 5 students. In the Spring 2007 over 258 students were enrolled in this program from more than 20 states and 21 different allied health areas. Beginning in the Fall 2007, the Health Sciences department will be offering 5 new online Allied Health degree completion programs.
There are 8 online degree options:
Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences: Community Health
The Distance Learning Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences: Community Health is a more focused degree in health promotion with an emphasis in Community Health.
Bachelor of Applied Science in Health Sciences
The Distance Learning Bachelor of Applied Science in Health Sciences degree, while offering a broad background in health promotion, offers additional courses in policy, ethics, communication, and management that might be more appropriate for the student seeking a career in health care management.
Allied Health Degree Completion Programs
The department of Health Sciences at NAU offers online degree completion programs in Allied Health professions. Current or prior students at a regionally accredited community college in one of the designated Allied Health programs listed below can earn a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from NAU. Program Admission Requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences: Community Health
The requirements for admission to this Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences: Community Health degree program are that you must meet at least one of the following criteria:
Bachelor of Applied Science in Health Sciences
The requirements for admission to the Bachelor of Applied Science in Health Sciences degree program are that you must meet both of the following criteria:
Allied Health Degree Completion Programs
Must be a current student or graduate from a regionally accredited community college in one of the following areas:
