C. brevipes ranges from Nevada, to western Arizona, and southeastern California, while C. multijuga ranges from Colorado to Nevada, Arizona and California. C. confertiflora is endemic to Grand Canyon National Park. Camissonia, is named for L.A. Chamisso, French-born German botanist, 1781-1838, while confertiflora literally means crowded flowers.
