Anthony’s research interests are aimed at the application of remote sensing tools in the exploration of the causes behind ecosystem shift. His research has included the implementation of multi-band phenology cameras as well as hyperspectral radiometers to monitor and characterize temporal patterns in plant growth and habitat transitions. Looking forward, Anthony is actively exploring the capacity for Google Earth Engine to illuminate fundamental patterns in the regional vulnerability of permafrost soils. Part of this exploration includes scaling the multi-year dataset measured at the Carbon in Permafrost Heating Project (CiPEHR) established and maintained by the Schuur lab since 2008.
