Research Interests

  • Anthropogenic impacts on global biogeochemical cycling and local ecosystem function
  • Climate change and the alteration of the carbon cycle in northern latitudes
  • My research focused on wintertime ecosystem respiration at our tundra warming experiment in Healy, AK, CiPEHR.  I quantified carbon loss from the tundra during the non-growing season, determined the drivers of wintertime respiration, and tried to understand how the wintertime carbon balance will be altered with climate change.

I was also involved with hosting teachers at our field site through PolarTREC. Check out our page about our activities with PolarTREC and Tom Lane's 2013 blog of his time working with me.
